Introduction

It’s been a while. The last time I posted something was May of last year, and it’s already a whole new year later. I just wanted to do a new introduction to my website hence I’ve been gone for too long. My last About Me was posted in 2017 if you want to go ahead and give it a read. My name is Monica and I am now twenty four years old. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science in June of 2018.

I’ve always had a passion for taking photos of anything and everything ever since I could hold a camera. It wasn’t until about sophomore year in college that I started to take photos of my planner and began my Instagram account and is forever in debt to the planner community for giving me the platform. I started to grow out of planning in my Kate Spade Wellesley planner around the beginning of my senior year in college. My brother had bought me the A5 Dotted Journal by Scribbles That Matter for Christmas since I told him I wanted to dabble into Bullet Journaling because of Amanda Rach Lee on Youtube. I started to take photos of my inspiration BUJO layout from Amanda and also curated my own style of decorating and been using my BUJO ever since.

Around that time, I also started to really get into K-Beauty so I would shoot pictures of my products, hauls, and BUJO on my Instagram account. I guess because of that, a Korean skincare brand reached out to me and wanted to collaborate with me (product in an exchange for an honest review). I remember calling my boyfriend in tears of joy telling him that a brand wanted to work with me. I guess because of the opportunity one brand gave me, it opened the doors to a variety of opportunities for me to work with brands. I’ve been a content creator on Instagram since September 2018.

I’m grateful to every brand that I got a chance to work with and to the brands that I haven’t got to work with, watch out I’m coming for you (just kidding), that is where my Instagram and Website took off. I worked part-time during that time and became full-time for a bit and than later realized that the retail job I had at the time wasn’t meant for me so I left. A few months later, I joined a retail company I love to work at because of the work culture, the coworkers, and the managers. Currently, still working there as a part-time employee while juggling being content creator full-time. I love what I do and look forward to what I do when it comes to being a content creator.

This blog will be a creative outlet for me to express my thoughts and feelings on anything and everything. I would probably post about Korean skincare product reviews, Chinese dramas that I just finished watching, my mental health, my relationship with my longtime boyfriend, books I’m reading, restaurants that I’m enjoying, outfits that I put together when I’m out, and so much more. Please hold me accountable by commenting, emailing, and/or DM me on Instagram. If you’ll love to see those type of content feel free to stay tune. Thank you, for taking your time to read this updated Introduction that was long overdue years ago.

Sincerely,

Monica

About Me

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for checking out my website! If you happen to stumble upon my website you probably came from somewhere, if not probably, my Instagram monicaserendipityx3 where I post my bullet journaling spreads and mini skincare faves/reviews.

Let me get ahead, and introduce myself, my name is Monica. I’m twenty one years old. I’ve been with my boyfriend from high school to college, well it’s been a little over eight years by now and the love is still going strong. I’m half Chinese and Vietnamese is what I like to call myself because I speak a language that is not really common or heard of from many, Teochew. It’s a Chinese dialect. I studied Mandarin for four years throughout high school and passed the college exam for Mandarin. I guess you can say, I can speak Mandarin? I speak half Tewchew and half English with my parents but my parents speak Vietnamese to each other? The irony… my last name is Tran so many people think I’m Vietnamese but I don’t really consider myself Vietnamese since I can’t speak or write but I could fully understand it.

My ultimate guilty pleasure is watching Taiwanese dramas. Anyone out there watches it too? Everyone around me is obsessed with Korean dramas but I was never really into it, just because I don’t like reading the subtitles because then, you miss out on the action and everything with the actors. In a way, I started watching Taiwanese Drama when I was in middle school, my very first one that I’ve ever watched was Smiling Pasta starring Cyndi Wang and Nicholas Teo and I fell in love haha.

I started this blog on October 2017 of last year, and within a couple months it would be a year since I started blogging. I fell in love with Korean Beauty after reading  The Little Book of Skincare by Charlotte Cho and evidently, ever since then I started to take action and take care of my skin with the 10 step method. Along the way, I found out that I love sheet masking and wanted to document and review sheet masks I’ve tested out along the way, as well as my current and updated skincare routine. My goal is to be consistent and post at least two-three times a week if possible, and because of your guys continuous support it keeps me going. Thank you guys ❤

p.s. not sure what else to write about myself… so we’ll leave it at that. if you guys have any questions or concern please feel free to email or dm me on Instagram.
